A Tokyo-based clothing store known for its minimalist clothing and streetwear, nano universe (or more properly, nano.universe) is collaborating with Seiko for the second time this year. The result is five timepieces sporting black coated cases and funky dials that draw inspiration from military timepieces.
They are loosely based on aviator’s and dive watches of old, with many details that will be familiar to military watch enthusiasts. The Gothic-font Arabic numerals are take…n from 1930s pilot’s watches while the California dial will be familiar to Panerai (and Rolex) fans.
All models have black-coated, 42mm steel cases. They are powered by the 4R35, Seiko’s robust self-winding movement with a date function and hacking seconds.
